| What
Lehmon did with his father's ideals
is nothing short of amazing. Over
the next 44 years, Black's Furniture
City grew to fill more than 62,500
square feet of retail space and began
nationwide delivery service within
the continental US. Lehmon brought
in dozens of nationally known furniture
brands, and always made his best efforts
to use his high volume purchasing
power to pass along savings to his
valued customers.
In
2002 the family tradition continued
as Lehmon passed the store down to
his son Hugh Black, who runs the operations
to this day. A career educator like
his grandfather, Hugh has endeavored
to bring the original concepts of
the founder into the new millenium
using cutting edge technology for
bulk purchasing from worldwide sources
and to deliver product information
to his customers electronically, while
still maintaining the mamoth showroom
and warehouses that build the Black's
Furniture City legacy. |
